Background: Public Agencies and Investment Monitoring Division

The Public Agencies Oversight Division was established in 1987. This division, together with Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri (JPKN), is responsible for managing the database and State Company Information System (SCIS).
SCIS is a centralized database that records information (financial and nonfinancial data) of statutory bodies, state agencies, and its subsidiaries. SCIS was officially launched on March 23 1988. Additionally, SCIS also provides data for analysis and makes this available for users.
The National Finance Council meeting, deliberated in 1999, directed each state to set up  its own State Investment Analysis and Monitoring Unit. This unit is
responsible for recording, analyzing, and monitoring investments.
In 2000, the unit was reorganized and combined with an investment unit. Now this division is called the Public Agencies and Investment Monitoring.
